EDUCATION SYSTEM IN TANZANIA

Our Education System

Tanzania's education system has been a long-term debate. In the beginning, Mwalimu Nyerere's era, the expectations and goals of the education system were the first to oppose ignorance. Thus, the aim was to make sure that every Tanzanian could read and write in order to be self-sufficient; “Education for self reliance.”

Today, we can have a debate to discuss the education system in the Teacher's time if you succeeded or not. Whatever we agreed to at the end of the debate, the results will not affect the fact - that we knew exactly what the goals and targets of the system were. But the world of that age is not our world today, so the goals and expectations cannot be the same, or not?
The world has changed so much, since the days of Nyerere to this day, these changes have been mixed with globalization. The world has become like one village, while the competition is growing at a fast pace. The goals and expectations of Mwalimu Nyerere's education system today would not meet the demands of the world market. For, knowing how to read and write can not lead you away from life, even though it's important.

Thus, we started with a system that ensures that we are ignorant. That was the foundation that was built by the first phase of the Government. The next phase of work was building walls, placing windows, roofing, and other important things needed for the construction of better houses. How is the same house today? Let's ask. In other words, what can I ask, the goals and expectations of the education system in the following phases have been? Did the following education systems have aims to stimulate the growth of private schools, and to increase the number of Tanzanian students who are studying out or to improve Tanzania's knowledge as a competitive one?

I am still not well aware of the expectations and goals of the following education systems after the Mwalimu Nyerere system has been exactly what. I would like to say that, since the goals and expectations of the single book system of Tanzania are still complex. If these expectations are to ensure students pass the exams, then we have made several steps back.
